Professor Siphiwe E. Mthiyane holds a PhD in Educational Leadership, Management and Governance and Policy studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is currently the HoD in the Department of Educational Management and Policy Studies (EMPS) in the Faculty of Education, University of Pretoria. He is also the past Deputy-President of both the Education Management Association of South Africa (EMASA) and the South African Education Research Association (SAERA).
Prof. Mthiyane’s research interests include School Leadership Development, School Violence, the intersectionality between Trust, Accountability, Ethical, and Servant Leadership theories, and successful schools located within turbulent environments. To date, he has successfully graduated 15 Doctoral and over 50 Masters students. He has written/co-written several peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. This is in addition to attending local and international conferences to disseminate his research.
