Vision

The Department’s vision is to be a leading Department in the Faculty of Education and to be a home for students and staff in terms of teaching and learning, research and community engagement in the four areas of our specialisation. We also would like to become the department of choice for staff and students, both nationally and internationally.

Mission

The Department’s mission is to develop and cultivate values, a culture and an ethos based on a sense of belonging, ownership, community, “vrymoedigheid”, support, understanding, communication, trust, collegiality, “uBuntu”, “ukukhuleleka” and integrity.

The vision and mission of the Department is carried out through the core functions of the Department that are aligned to the Faculty Plan and the University Vision 2025.
