The 2018/19 Executive Committee (EC) of Commercii, the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences’ faculty house, attended the UP Student Development Awards on 7 October 2019 at the Groenkloof Campus.
At the ceremony, each executive committee member of the various faculty and day houses that attended were congratulated for their commitment to serving their fellow students. The event also provided a moment of reflection on the hard work every committee put in throughout the 2018/19 term.

Commercii reminisced on their hard work, specifically the ‘2moroLand’ event which was a successful first-of-its-kind event. As the evening progressed, the anticipation of receiving awards increased. Commercii received four awards in total, which was an improvement from the previous EC’s term. The awards received were as follows: Treasurer Award, Rag Award, Personal and Professional Development Award and lastly the Faculty Involvement Award, which was shared with House Humanities. Thereafter refreshments were served, and the team mingled for the last time. Overall the evening was a success and the team was proud of all the awards received, as it reflected the hard work that was done throughout their term.

In total, the Commercii EC 2018/19 bagged six awards for their term, which will forever be remembered as they set the foundation of what is now known as “2moroland”.  A hearty thanks goes out to the Faculty of EMS and all the stakeholders that contributed to the success of the EC during their term. The outgoing Commercii EC are proud of their hard work and commitment and hope the incoming Commercii EC 2019/20 will fly the flag high and build upon their legacy.
