EMS top achievers honoured at Allan Gray awards function

Allan Gray, Africa's largest privately-owned investment management company, annually hosts an awards function to honour the top achievers in UP’s Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences. Participating in this year’s celebratory event, held on 8 October at UP’s Hatfield Campus, were Investment Management, Financial Management, Business Management, Marketing Management, Accounting, Internal Audit, Taxation, Economics and Mathematics students.
 
The top achievers in the second year, third year and honours year of study received prizes including cash and iPad Minis as part of an essay competition run by Allan Gray. The 2018 winners are:

Shannon Barnard: BCom Hons Business Management
 
“We were privileged to have a very dynamic guest speaker at the event, Mr Sizwe Nzima, a young entrepreneur from Khayelitsha,” said Ms Nikki Groenewald, Academic Coordinator in the Faculty. She added that the event was a highlight on the EMS student calendar, as it rewarded the hard work that students put in and gave them some much-needed motivation ahead of the final exams of the academic year.
