His main interests are on Growth and Development MacroEconomics, and the Political Economy of Progress. His is also interested in the History of Economic Growth and Technological Progress. At the moment his research concentrates on the links seen among institutions, political and economic polarisation, and distortionary macroeconomic policies; and financial development, inequality and economic growth. Outside academia, he is a keen swimmer and runner, a regular cinema goer and, given his nationality, particularly interested in football matters.
