The G20 Youth Forum

Posted on May 15, 2013

The event was organised by the G8 & G20 Alumni Association, which is an international non-governmental, non-profit organisation. The 2013 G20 Youth Forum created an ideal platform for interactions between participants of over 20 countries with the aim of helping to solve current world issues.

Two participants from the University of Pretoria presented their work at the Forum’s conference. Ms Martie Bradley from the Department of Public Law defended her views on drone warfare, while Mr Vincent Dadam from the Department of Economics discussed one of South Africa’s most pressing issues, namely unemployment. The two articles will be published in the first issue of the conference journal in early June 2013.

The G20 Youth Forum ended with a grand imperial ball called The Silver Angel, held in the atmosphere of Russia’s silver period (early XX century). The positive atmosphere helped to establish intercultural dialogues and build long-lasting friendships.
