RAG Week

Posted on February 28, 2018

The RAG of Hope Day set up for the 10th of February was one of the most anticipated events on the RAG calendar. Activities began the 5th of February which marked the beginning of RAG Week. This week was mainly used as a time for our first years to help out as well as bond and socialize with the first years of our RAG Partners, Klaradyn. The lead up during the week went extremely well with a good turn out for eager first years ready to help everyday. This allowed us to finish our prep work in good time. We kept the age old tradition of “blommetjies vou” which was then used to decorate our stall and advertise our charity organisation.

The morning of the RAG of Hope Day started with a bang as many members took part in a 2km fun run on behalf of the selected charities. Activities went on well throughout the day and these included a Soccer and Touch Rugby competition as well as a box cart race between the residences. The other big highlight of the day was the craft markets run by each RAG partnership whereby all the money made was donated directly to our their charity.

At the end of this amazing day a prize giving ceremony was held by TuksRAG. Dregadyn were the biggest winners on the night placing in every single category therefore ensuring we came 1st in the overall event. Thus making us the winners of RAG 2018!
