1nSync is a sing and dance competition for all the first years in student houses, which includes Residences and Day Houses. Every student house has one performance choreographed and coached, according to a theme, by the Culture External HC member of the respective student house. Every group has their own band to make music and perform together in a synchronized manner.

This year Dregeana Day House took a new approach to 1nSync with the theme “Sons of Thunder”, choreographed by Brandon Bezuidenhout, the culture external EC.  Practice started off at a good pace, with the Nergies of the House catching on the difficult choreography quickly.

The theme, “Sons of Thunder”, entails the journey of a group of warriors preparing for battle, where the audience would act as their rivals.  It started off with a war cry and gumboot dance in order to “speak fear into their eyes”.

The storyline followed through and became more and more intense, until the war was over and the Nergies celebrated in sing and dance with fun songs like “Mphe di Hoenor” and “Mans not Hot”

Ultimately the Nergies had a lot of fun and they had made Dregeana Day House very proud.  We salute you Nergies and hope that you bring all these talents through to Serrie later this year.
