The Absent Figure

Posted on May 07, 2015

What happens to a nation and to the whole world when their hero goes missing?

In the absence of this powerful figure, what are the possibilities for intercultural discourse, social interaction and trust? Such questions pervade the play.

This entertaining play takes place in the here and now. The omnipotent presence of our ancestors may become real and may serve to heal a culture and an individual.

Performed by postgraduate students, The Absent Figure offers a fresh look at contemporary societies. It portrays the urgency to acknowledge the needs of others and every gift that is offered. It brings hope to a tired world.
