Dear Friends and colleagues,
As I reflect on the past 30 years, I am filled with a sense of appreciation for the invaluable experiences, friendships and memories that have enriched my professional life.
Working at the Music Library has been an incredibly rewarding and fulfilling experience. From the moment I stepped through the doors on my first day, to the bittersweet farewell today, I have been privileged to be part of many colleagues. The library has been more than just a workplace; it has been a second home, a sanctuary where I could immerse myself in the world of music and contribute to the preservation and dissemination of musical knowledge and librarianship.
Over the years I have had the privilege of collaborating with talented colleagues, researchers, musicians and patrons who have inspired me with their creativity, dedication and love for information and music. Together, we have navigated challenges and celebrated milestones together. Special among these was my marriage to Eric, my soul mate and best friend, a joyous moment intertwined with my professional journey.
I am deeply grateful for the support, guidance and mentorship I have received form my supervisors and colleagues throughout my tenure. Their unwavering encouragement and trust have empowered me to grow both personally and professionally, and I am truly thankful for the opportunities they have provided me.
As I bid farewell to the Department of Library Services, I carry with me cherished memories that will forever hold a special place in my heart. While I am excited about the adventures that await me, I will always treasure the moments spent within these walls and the relationships forged along the way.
In closing I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone at the DLS for making my work memorable and rewarding. Your kindness, camaraderie and passion for knowledge have made this journey extraordinary and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of it.
Wishing you all continued success and fulfilment in your endeavors.
With warmest regards
Isobel Rycroft
