Easter Cheer in the Library: Egg Hunt and Quiz Spark Student Joy and Engagement

On 8 April 2025, the library hosted a lively and well-received Easter Egg Hunt and Quiz event aimed at fostering student engagement, spreading holiday cheer, and creating a fun atmosphere within the library space. This initiative formed part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the student experience and promote the library as not just a place for academic work, but also as a welcoming and dynamic environment.

The event began in the early hours of the morning, before the library officially opened. Members of the library team carefully hid a variety of colourful Easter eggs in creative and unexpected places throughout the building. Eggs were placed under chairs, tucked between the pages of books, hidden behind computer monitors, nestled among the library shelves, and in other discreet corners of the libraries. As students began to arrive, many were pleasantly surprised to discover the hidden treats, sparking a sense of excitement and playful curiosity across the library.

Alongside the egg hunt, a Easter-themed quiz was organised to further engage students. Participants were invited to answer a series of questions that ranged from general knowledge to fun facts about the University of Pretoria and the library. For every correct answer submitted, students were rewarded with an Easter egg. This not only encouraged participation but also created a positive and interactive learning environment. The quiz was designed to be accessible and enjoyable, with questions that sparked conversation and friendly competition among students.

To raise the stakes and increase motivation, a special grand prize - a high-quality bluetooth speaker - was awarded to the student who answered the most questions correctly. This added an extra layer of excitement, drawing in a larger number of participants eager to claim the top prize.
