Audrey Lenoge, the Faculty Library Manager of the Oliver R Tambo Law Library, reflects on her journey of completing ten Comrades Marathons.
Here is what she had to say:
"I ran and completed ten Comrades Marathons and I am now a proud member of the Green Number Club. The number 50821 will forever be associated with my name. The life lessons I have learned from participating in the Ultimate Human Race are invaluable: perseverance, consistency, patience, determination, courage, mental fortitude, learning from others, competing with myself, and running my own race. Running is a metaphor for life, allowing me to apply these lessons daily.
Each run has taught me something new about myself, revealing my capabilities and level of endurance. The Comrades Marathon has showcased the incredible potential of the human spirit. Every time we challenge ourselves and put in the work, the results are evident.
I am deeply grateful to God for the ability to run. It is by His grace and mercy that I have managed to reach this milestone of ten marathons. For the love of running."
