The Department of Library Services (DLS) extends its warmest regards as we bid farewell to Mr. Wanani Sitsula, an esteemed member of our team.
“My journey with DLS started in 2010 at the Klinikala Library on a contract basis and later moved to the Medical library. In 2011 I was then permanently employed at GV as a shelver and later got a position at the desk. It has been a journey filled with a lot of learning, development and working with colleagues who taught me a lot about work and life. I gained a lot of knowledge over the years even through serving in the Marketing Committee, Transformation Committee and OHS Committee. I will forever be grateful and treasure the memories created over all these years.
The library has always served as a motivation for one to not only work harder but also to study further. I obtained my LLB (UNISA) while working at the library and later on felt motivated to further my studies in law by enrolling for my LLM (Masters in Law, with particular focus on Consumer Protection law, Consumer Credit Law and Banking law) through the University of Pretoria. It is never about where one starts off in their career, but rather about what one desires to do about the future that is ahead. Besides all the knowledge and skills gained from fellow colleagues, reading and attending workshops, I have learnt that with God all things are possible.
I am not completely vanishing from the library, as I will still be utilizing the Library spaces, databases and resources in order to complete my postgraduate studies through UP.
Thank you for being a significant part of my journey and as I commence a new career path, the skills, experiences and the amazing people encountered at DLS will forever be a part of me and my future."
The Department of Library Services extends its heartfelt gratitude for Wanani's invaluable contributions, and we wish him every success and fulfillment in all his future endeavors.
