Visit by Acting University Librarian at the National University of Science and Technology in Zimbabwe, Ethel Kawome

Ethel Kawome, Acting University Librarian at the National University of Science and Technology in Zimbabwe, visited the Merensky 2 Library on 19 April 2024.

Ms Kawomane was keen on gathering insights for the design and layout of learning spaces. She expressed interest in touring the Merensky 2 Library to learn how various learning spaces for the modern student had been designed, incorporating technologies, and to learn more about the different library services offered to students. 

She thanked the Department of Library Services afterwards: "I  want to express my heartfelt thank you for the hospitality I received from you and your team during my visit to your Library. The experience was eye-opening and gave me a lot of pointers on the direction we should lean towards as we plan on designing our own learning spaces for our new library. You might want to know that I made recommendations to our engineers on fireproofing the building based on the renovations that I saw at your Library. Please pass on my thank yous to the rest of the team."
