Intendum Assessment Tool in the DLS

To foster a collaborative culture within the units, the Department of Library Services (DLS) conducted a survey aimed at assessing the collaborative behaviors among library staff members. This survey tool was used to gain insights into the department's patterns of collaboration and was administered by Schuitema, an independent research entity.

The assessment focused on four key areas:

1. Work-related guidance
2. Personal connections
3. Authority, and
4. Information sharing.

The survey was sent out to all DLS staff members through a secure online form on July 03, 2023, and it was concluded on August 03, 2023. It received great participation from the DLS staff resulting in an impressive 94% response rate.

The assessment shed light on the department's collaborative landscape and revealed reach information sharing and work-related networks. It also highlighted areas of improvement, including personal connections among others. The DLS is putting measures in place to implement recommendations while leveraging strengths identified in the evaluation.
