Mastering Excel at the Research Commons Workshop

Our September Advanced Microsoft Excel Workshop was a resounding success, attracting over 100 eager participants who were keen on taking their Excel skills to new heights. From 10:00 to 13:00 on Saturday, 9 September 2023, we dove deep into the world of spreadsheets, here at the Merensky 2 Library.

Research Commons Junior Information Assistant, Lehlogonolo Tabana, led attendees through a comprehensive curriculum, equipping them with the advanced techniques, formulas and tools to become true masters of Excel. Together, we explored the world of formulas and functions, delved into data analysis techniques and learned the art of creating compelling charts and graphs. Lehlogonolo also shared valuable tips and tricks to streamline workflow and boost productivity in the realm of research.

We were thrilled to see such a diverse group of participants, with researchers from various fields and faculties coming together with a common goal – to expand their Excel expertise. The enthusiasm and dedication displayed by all for expanding their skills was inspiring and the resounding success of this workshop has fuelled our passion to offer another enlightening session in October 2023.
