The University of Pretoria Medical Library at Snyman Building donates books to the needy.
Since the beginning of the year 2021, the Medical Library at SW Snyman building has been busy renovating the library. One of the major activities in the project was to look at the collection so that books that are no longer in use or irrelevant are donated to libraries that need them.
On 15 February, an arrangement was made with The Manager of Bibliographic & Technical Services (Mandla Ngubeni) from the City of Ekurhuleni, Boksburg Public Library to donate identified books. About twenty-seven boxes of books (including various CDs and DVDs) and a total of three hundred and thirty-eight titles altogether were collected by the library in need. We are proud of our contribution to promoting literacy and education in our community, and we will continue to seek ways to give back to the community. Such contributions to promoting literacy and education are invaluable to communities, especially those communities in need.
Credit is awarded to the staff of The Medical Library for their effort in organising the books into boxes and ensuring that they were collected as per the arrangement. Their dedication and commitment to giving back to the community is commendable. Keep up the good work, and I hope that The Medical Library continues to find more ways to give back to the community.
