A warm welcome to our new staff members

The Department of Library Services extends a very warm welcome to Ms. Khawulile Radebe and Ms. Nomthandazo Dyantyi who recently joined us. We are so excited to have you on our team! We asked them some questions about themselves to get to know them better.

 

1. Are you an early bird or a night owl?

 Night Owl

2. What was your first job?

Library Assistant: Shelving- the most physically challenging job I’ve ever done

3. What advice would you give to your teenage self?

The world doesn’t owe you anything. Wake up every day and work hard for your dreams

4. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

As a kid, I honestly don’t remember thinking that ahead, but as a teenager, I thought I’d be a Physiotherapist (LOL)

5. What’s one hobby you’d love to get into?

Blogging

6. What’s your favorite TV show—the one you’re always watching on repeat?

The Good Doctor- whenever I feel like crying I watch this series (LOL)

 
 

 

1. Are you an early bird or a night owl?

I wouldn’t say I’m an early bird or night owl, but I prefer to go to bed late and rise early in the morning and easily kick-start my day.

2. What was your first job?

My first job was as a Cataloguer for the Carnegie Programme 

3. What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

I am actually an introvert

4. What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Kind, love to laugh, and caring

5. What book are you reading now?

The Light We Carry by Michelle Obama

6. Which season is your favorite?

I love winter

 

 

1. What was your first job?

My first job was waitressing. Meeting different people with different personalities every day was an exciting and unique experience

2. What led you to this career?

I have always had a passion for marketing and social media, so when the library offered me the social media assistant position, I didn't hesitate to take the position. A job where I am able to use social media as a marketing tool is everything I could have asked for

3. What’s something you’ve done, but will never do again?

I once went bungee jumping and as thrilling as that experience was, it was the scariest thing I’ve ever done! I will definitely not be doing that again

4. What’s your guilty pleasure?

Scrolling for hours on TikTok. The app is very addictive!

5. If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?

If I could choose a superpower it would be time travel because I would love to travel through time to relive my favourite moments

6. What’s one item you want to own that you don’t?

A Lamborghini
