Library Technical Service Unit hosts Metadata Training

On 19, 20 and 23 September 2022, the Library Technical Service Unit held its Metadata training for Cataloguing and Acquisition Staff. The training was offered online by our colleague and Metadata Specialist Ms Amelia Breytenbach. This is aligned with keeping abreast of current practices and new trends and developments in the global environment.

The training covered areas such as Metadata best practices and the role of the metadata editor in DSpace. This was a learning opportunity to build our knowledge of our day-to-day responsibilities, and it was made possible under the leadership of line manager Marguerite Nel, who seeks these opportunities for her staff when necessary.
