On 8 November 2023 UP's Department of Construction Economics had an accreditation visit from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).  The RICS is the largest and most recognized organisation for property professionals in the world and strives towards the highest ethical and technical standards for property professionals.  Our Quantity Surveying-, Construction Management- and Real Estate programmes at undergraduate- and postgraduate level as well as our MSc Real Estate course work programme formed part of the accreditation.  The RICS panel reviewed the current curriculums to ensure that a high international quality academic standard is adhered to. The RICS also had discussions with staff, students and employers regarding academic- and administrative practices in the Department.  We are pleased to announce that upon conclusion of the accreditation the RICS panel indicated that a full, unconditional accreditation will be proposed to the RICS internal overseeing committee for all four our programmes.  The formal recognition of the accreditation of our academic programmes are expected early in 2024.
