On 30 August 2019 the 3rd year Quantity Surveying-, Construction Management- and Real Estate students attended a site visit in Soshanguve as part of their BHU 320 module.  BHU 320 aims to give students an understanding of the residential property market and affordable government subsidised housing.

Valumax agreed to host the students for a site visit. Valumax is a property development company that has successfully completed numerous projects ranging from mega housing projects, affordable housing projects and mid- to high income housing projects in Gauteng.  The property developer, city planner and engineer each gave a presentation to the students. They were then taken on a site visit to see projects that Valumax has successfully completed under the Finance Linked Individual Subsidy Programme (FLISP). The students enjoyed a productive and informative day on site.
