Prof Tinus Maritz, head of the Department Construction Economics was a guest speaker at the conference on Insight to tools governing construction contracts. He was also one of the 4-ball alliance (Fernando Cardoso, Robert Giuricich, Nico Maas, Tinus Maritz) that won the golf competition.

Janette Coertzen, currently a first year honours student in Construction Management, received the prize for the best undergraduate student in Construction Management during 2012 at the University of Pretoria
