UP bikeshare pilot

Need a bike for an hour or two?

The University of Pretoria and the City of Tshwane are piloting a small-scale bikeshare system on the UP campus.

Key features are:

• The pilot is open for registered University of Pretoria students and staff
• You can rent a bike for a daily fee of R5
• You can choose between two types of bikes: regular bikes, and electric bikes
• The bike has to be checked out at the bikeshare kiosk located at the Park-and-Ride parking lot near LC de Villiers sports centre on the Hillcrest campus. The bike has to be returned there by 18:00 on the same day. The kiosk is only open on weekdays.
• You may make an advance booking online to ensure a bicyce is available when you need it
• Bicycle helmets will be provided at the kiosk
