These systemic tests are administered annually in the Western Cape Province in Grade 3 across three languages, Afrikaans, English and Isixhosa and in English and Afrikaans in Grade 6 and 9.

A team from the CEA consisted of the project manager, Mrs Karen Roux, Mathematics consultant Mr Hendrik De Kock, Language consultant Ms Joyce West and the CEA’s fieldwork manager Mr Gabriel Mokoena.  The team participated in the items review discussion on at Northlink College in Cape Town where the individual item performance, item difficulty and the Rasch analysis outputs, specifically Differential Item Functioning (DIF) were examined.
