CEA Post-graduate Students Present at the Faculty of Education’s 2016 Research Indaba

“Doing research in education that makes a difference” was the theme for this year’s Faculty of Education’s Research Indaba held at the University of Pretoria’s Groenkloof campus in October this year. Two post-graduate students affiliated with the Centre for Evaluation and Assessment (CEA) used this platform, along with other postgraduate students, to showcase their work. Ms Charlote Madzuka, an Med Assessment and Quality Assurance (AQA) student focused on “Annual National Assessment grade 6 mathematics instrument within Rasch assessment and measurement framework”. Ms Modzuka won a book voucher generously sponsored by Bookmark in the category of exceptional MEd completed study.
 
Mrs Nelladee Palane, a doctoral student at the CEA who is supervised by Prof. Sarah Howie, presented on “Context as a basis for language policy in schools: exploring higher-order reading comprehension in prePIRLS 2011”.
