The Department of Business Management successfully hosted its annual Supply Chain Management Career Day on 21 July 2017 at the UP Conference Centre.
Industry role players SAPICS, BP, Imperial Logistics, Cummins, ID Logistics, VSC Solutions, Bramhope, CHEP, DSV, Matrix Warehouse, UPD, Tech-Pro and Bidvest Panalpina Logistics showcased their career opportunities to under- and postgraduate students in Supply Chain Management.
Ntokozo Nkosi of UP Career Services equipped students with work readiness skills, including CV compilation, preparing for an interview, the interview process as well as some expectations from industry.
The annual Supply Chain Management Career Day affords students the opportunity to engage with potential employers, as well as a sneak peek into the future of a career within the supply chain management field.
“Supply chain management and logistics put products and services in the hands of the consumer and are critical drivers of economic growth. We endeavour to do our part by producing work-ready graduates in this field. It is always rewarding to see past graduates now working for the very exhibitors at our annual career day. They are our brand ambassadors,” says Mr Wesley Niemann, lecturer and event organiser.
The Department of Business Management is proud of its partnership and association with industry.
