The recent 37th Annual SAPICS conference and exhibition held true to its long-standing reputation as the leading event in Africa for supply chain professionals.

Two academic staff members and seven postgraduate students in Supply Chain Management attended the annual event held at Sun City from 31 May to 2 June 2015.

The conference sessions covered a range of topics with impressive speakers stepping up to the stage to provide significant insight into topical issues, challenges and trends affecting not only the supply chain management profession, but also business in the context of global economic growth.

The Department of Business Management in cooperation with Continuing Education at University of Pretoria Trust exhibited at the conference to promote the range of formal academic and continuing education and training programmes on offer.

Mr Wesley Niemann and Dr Marcia Mkansi took part in a supply chain education round table discussion with various industry leaders.

Postgraduate students in Supply Chain Management utilised the opportunity to engage and network with industry to identify organisations willing to take part in master’s degree research projects, as well as to explore possible employment opportunities.
