Prof Sander de Leeuw visits the Department of Business Management

Prof De Leeuw presented a three-day course on Supply Chain Strategy as part of the Master Certificate Programme (EMLog) in Supply Chain Management offered by the Department of Business Management in cooperation with CE at UP.

Prof De Leeuw is an associate professor at the Vrije Universiteit and specialises in supply chain management, a field of business in which he has over fifteen years of teaching, research and consulting experience. Prior to joining the Vrije Universiteit, he held positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Center for Technology, Policy and Industrial Development, at the Babson College and at the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven in the Netherlands. He was also employed as a management consultant at KPMG, amongst others. Prof De Leeuw holds an MSc degree and a PhD degree in Industrial Engineering/Management Science from Technische Universiteit Eindhoven.

His research activities focuses on case-based empirical research. The main research interests are in the area of supply chain performance management, where he is investigating to what extent performance measures are and should be aligned in a supply chain and how effective performance measurement needs to be designed. Prof De Leeuw also does research in humanitarian supply chains in developing countries, amongst others, where his research particularly focuses on supply chain management issues in case of large man-made or natural disasters.
