Anton Erasmus, Master Brewer, gave a short presentation about the SAB that focused on the Alrode brewery, its history and how the brewery operates and performs. This provided students with an insight into the magnitude of the responsibility that a supply chain manager holds within an organisation.
Students were taken through the full process, which included beer brewing, the brew house and the pack house where beverages are bottled, labelled and distributed to complete the supply chain process.
The tour was particularly valuable to students, as they were able to experience the supply chain process of products on a large scale. The tour ended with light snacks and drinks provided by SAB and each student was issued with a complimentary ‘Brew master’s Walk’ glass.
