On Thursday 10 October 2019, Meshack Kekana, from the Department of Biochemistry, Genetics and Microbiology, was recognized by the UP STARS Mentorship programme as one of the NAS mentors who have made a great impact on the lives of the first-year BSc students who were part of the mentorship programme. He mentored nine first-year BSc students and guided them throughout the year. All 9 nine students made a successful transition from Highschool to Varsity under his guidance and they are all now performing well academically.
The awards ceremony was held at the Groenkloof Auditorium.
