Lipid and nitrogen metabolism (BCM 261)

Research Focus:
Given my broad public health background, my research takes a One Health approach to better understand:

• snakes, snake venom and snakebite
• ecological determinants of health
• the molecular basis of diseases

This means my research works along the entire health value chain including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, post-treatment, as well as understanding and solving the barriers to better health. To date, human health has been my main focus, however, in line with the One Health approach I now increasingly focus on animal (domestic and wild) and ecosystem health to better understand a disease.
