Internal Auditing’s achievers recognised

Posted on September 04, 2015

The Department of Auditing’s Internal Auditing Education Partnership (IAEP) Programme hosted its annual prize award function for the top performing students in the Programme in June 2015. The event was hosted at the Pretoria Country Club and was sponsored by PWC, whilst Absa Barclays also contributed to making the evening a great success. As part of their sponsorship, PWC provided the keynote speaker for the evening’s event. Nqaba “Q” Ndiweni, PWC’s Deputy Leader for Audit in Gauteng, was both dynamic and inspirational in his address, illustrating the particular and increasing importance of the internal audit function. His address captured the imagination of student and professional alike and set the tone for the remainder of the evening.

Whilst the event recognised students on both undergraduate and postgraduate level, this year’s function introduced a new award for the top performing student in the Programme’s new MPhil (Internal Auditing) programme. Eugene Whitehorn was rewarded for his performance in this category. Lise-Marie Landman was recognised as the overall top academic performer in the BCom Internal Auditing subjects, and Izaan Dippenaar was awarded with the prize for the top academic achievement in the BCom(Hons) Internal Auditing course.

The evening was a resounding success, with students sharing their well-deserved recognition with close family and friends, as well as being afforded the opportunity to network and connect with the IAEP Programme’s valued stakeholders and partners in practice.
