Professor Glenn Sumners, Director of the Centre of Internal Auditing at Louisiana State University (LSU) and also honorary professor in the Department of Auditing at the University of Pretoria, presented the course from 12 to 16 September 2011. More than 150 internal audit practitioners and 47 honours students from the Department of Auditing attended the course, which covered all four parts of the professional CIA examination.

During his visit, Professor Sumners also met with staff from the Department of Auditing and acted as instructor for one of the honours courses. The Department looks forward to presenting the CIA preparation course again in 2012.
