Both of these institutions have been accredited by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) as Internal Auditing Educational Partnership (IAEP) schools and both programmes have Centre of Excellence status (two of only five schools globally which have this status).

Ms Kato Plant, an academic staff member in the Department of Auditing at UP, visited LSU during May 2012. She was invited by Dr Glenn Sumners from LSU to deliver a presentation on governance and ethics at the Governance Conference that was presented by the IIA,Baton Rouge chapter. The conference was held in Baton Rouge and was attended by internal audit practitioners from Louisiana. Kato also attended the internal audit case studies week from 12 to 16 May 2012 at LSU where she acted as one of the panel members who gave feedback to internal audit students on their presentation skills.
