Academic Profile

My work focuses on hydrological modelling in the Shashe-Limpopo river basin. This work examines the role of hydrological changes in the demise of early state-societies, southern Africa. The research strategy combines geoarchaeological field techniques; laboratory analyses (geochemistry and soil macro-micromorphology); historical and modern climatic records; advanced morphometric analysis using predictive modelling in Geographic Information System, Remote Sensing & Hydrologic Engineering Center River Analysis System.

Current Research Project(s)

I am currently engaged in field projects focussing on Geoarchaeological and geophysical land-surface surveys to model societal developments in Mapungubwe, Shashe-Limpopo basin (2021).
