The University of Pretoria Research team consisting of Tinashe Kapuya, Ward Anseeuw, Ferdi Meyer and Johann Kirsten received a grant to conduct research under the broad theme of “Foreign Direct Investment in Land (FDI), Land Markets and Land Institutions, and Development of the Agricultural Sector in Africa". The grant which supports research regarding emerging issues in Africa was launched by Agricultural Growth and Development Policy (Agrodep) four years ago. The title of UP team proposal is “Globalisation of Production, Agro-Food Supply Chains and Agribusiness Models: Exploring the structural effects of Large Scale Land acquisitions in Southern Africa “ The proposal was ranked in the top three category, out of a total of 75 applications received.
