The Benjamin van Rensburg Fund in honour of a distinguished student

Posted on May 19, 2011

We, as the residence parents of Boekenhout, came to know Benjamin in 2008 during his stay in the residence. What impressed us most about Benjamin was his unique contribution to the residence. He lived a value-driven life, that personified the aforementioned values of Boekenhout.

As the house parents of Boekenhout, we strive for a value-driven culture in the residence. We wish to acknowledge the contributions of students who live by these values. In memory of Benjamin who created such a lasting impression on us, we decided to name the bursary fund for him.

The bursary is made available to a resident of Boekenhout Hostel, who, just like Benjamin van Rensburg, lives these values to the full. In 2010, for the first time, the bursary was awarded to two students, Kobus van der Merwe and Kenneth Mabela. Mrs Allison van Rensburg, Benjamin's mother, handed the bursary to the two students.
