Sarah Skorpen is a lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Pretoria where she teaches strength of materials and steel design to the undergraduates. Sarah spent nine years working for the Buildings and Structures division of RHDHV, and joined the University of Pretoria just over four years ago. She has obtained a MEng (Structural Eng.) and is currently working on her PhD, part of which involves monitoring a 90m long reinforced concrete integral bridge. Her field of interests include structural design in steel, timber and reinforced concrete.
