1. Apply online on the Actuarial Society of South Africa's website.
2. Obtain a copy of your academic record from the Client Service Centre at the Humanities Building.
3. Complete the relevant forms required by th eonline application and submit it to Mrs Hellberg at the Department of Insurance and Actuarial Science in order for the relevant staff members to sign it. Please allow sufficient time for this process.
4. Collect your forms from Mrs Hellberg at the Department once you have been notified.
5. Submit all the necessary documents as set out in the application form, as well as the certificate of academic compliance, to the Actuarial Society of South Africa. The Society will process the application and will inform you in due course whether the application was successful.
6. The minimum admission requirements applied by the Actuarial Society are as follows:
For admission as a Student Member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa a person must have passed either Mathematics II or Mathematical Statistics II (on the mainstream level, rather than any ancillary level) through a (SAQA) recognised university, and have met at least one of the following minimum performance requirements:
Note: Where a minimum mark is specified for a particular subject, this refers to the average mark for all modules that constitute that subject (e.g. Mathematical Statistics II = Average of marks for WST 211 and 221 at UP).
