The VIP@Tuks programme in the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology (EBIT) forms part of the international initiative developed by the Georgia Tech Institute of Technology (http://www.vip-consortium.org/) since March 2018. We currently are one of 45 institutions participating in this initiative across the world.
VIP offers students a multidisciplinary, multinational and multi-year action learning experience that is project-based and either linked to local industry or local and international research activities. Students will be able to receive hands-on experience on a contextually relevant project which could either count towards their vacation work credit or simply as an enthusiastic volunteer.
VIP teams are typically student-based teams supported by postgraduate students or members of the Faculty. There is no limit to the number of semesters a student can be active in the VIP teams and there is no limit to the position the student can fulfill (some second-year students opt for management roles in the team).
