UPSO/W Auditions 2019

The University of Pretoria Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Windband hold auditions for potential members once a year. Any person who is interested in joining the orchestra or windband should meet these basic requirements:

  1. Play an instrument which is standardly found in a symphony orchestra or windband (i.e. no piano)
  2. Be at a grade 6 level (ABRSM, UNISA or Trinity)
  3. Be able to commit to a full year of membership (February 2019- November 2019)
  4. Be a student of the University of Pretoria, or be able to travel to the University for rehearsals easily and without hassle
  5. Must be of the understanding that should you pass your audition and become a member of either ensemble, your commitment to your ensemble is your most important extramural commitment. Because of the nature of a performing ensemble, weekly rehearsals are all compulsory and a high level of commitment is essential.
