#TuksSport: Emmanuel Radingwana of TuksFM to run and talk about the Sappi Tuks Race

Posted on February 09, 2025

Emmanuel Radingwana, the dynamic voice of TuksFM, is set to take on a unique challenge at the 2025 Sappi TuksRace. Not only will he be running the race, but he’ll also be sharing real-time insights, experiences, and race-day excitement with listeners and followers.

As a passionate advocate for fitness and sport, Emmanuel’s participation adds an exciting element to this year’s edition. Whether you’re running alongside him or tuning in to his coverage, expect an engaging perspective on one of Pretoria’s most anticipated road-running events.

As to running next Saturday, he said, "I haven't yet done any major races. The Tuks race will actually be my first proper-like race, so I'm looking forward to it and hoping it goes well. My bucket list is completing my first 10km race, then slowly working towards completing a half-marathon before the end of the year. Another definite goal is to keep improving my time over various distances."

His passion for running started when he and a few friends decided last year to challenge each other to see how far they could jog or walk over a few days.

"After my first few runs, I just started to enjoy running because it's a good way to keep the body fit, plus it forces me to be outside and get fresh air. Running helps me clear my mind and work off all the unwanted calories and body fat. It is also such a fantastic way to meet new people.

"One of my most memorable moments as a runner was when I went out to a five-kilometre run. I ran 10 kilometres because I enjoyed the run so much. It was the first time I ran that far," said the TuksFM presenter.

"Tuks FM has always been about more than just radio. We are committed to supporting and inspiring our student community," said Lwazi Mpofu, Tuks FM Station Manager. "

Last year, Tuks FM and FLY@UP encouraged students to perform random acts of kindness—such as thanking a lecturer or picking up litter—in exchange for a textbook or stationery item. This unique approach addressed academic needs and inspired a spirit of goodwill across the campus.

The Sappi TuksRace edition on 15 February includes the 21.1km and 10km official events and 5km and 1km fun family events. Athletes who decide to run the Sappi TuksRace 21 km will pass the Sappi Tech Centre at the 18 km marker watering point
