Tuks's Tatjana Schoenmaker achieved another first over the weekend when she won two gold medals during the FINA Swimming World Cup Series in Tokyo.
On Friday she bagged the gold in the 200m breaststroke swimming a new World Cup record time of 2:22.35, shedding 0.52secs from Viktoria Gunes' 2015 time of 2:22.87. It was the first time she competed at a World Cup.
The silver and bronze in the race went to Japan's Reona Aoki and Spain's Jessica Vall Montero in 2:24.33 and 2:25.32.
Schoenmaker completed a unique double for a third time at an international gala on Saturday when she also won the 100m-breaststroke. Her winning time was 1:06.54. Japan's Miho Teramura finished second in 1:06.77.
During last year's Gold Coast Commonwealth Games the Tuks swimmer also won the 100m and 200m-breaststroke and she did so in July in Napoli.
