#TuksRugby: Mixed Results in Carlton Cup Encounter

Posted on May 07, 2016

Tuks faced Centurion in this week’s Carlton Cup encounter. On the 5th May 2016, Tuks U/20 and the U/21 team both sealed victory in their respective matches against Centurion. The U/20 keeps progressing to the top of the log after they defeated the lads of Centurion in a battle of the fly-halves to seal the win. The U/21 Jongspan showed class by scoring numerous try’s thus putting a 40 point difference against the Centurion men.

On Saturday, 7 May 2016 Centurion had the home advantage and drew motivation from their supporters. Tuks 3 Pumas showed finesse to put up a 40 point difference against their opponents. Tuks 2 Fezelas fought a tough battle against the Centurion team that they faced in the final last year but this time came short to lose by 7 point difference. The main game of the day saw Tuks 1 go head to head with the Centurion Boys. The result went the Centurion Lads way after the Tuks Boys opted to go for the line-out instead of going for the 2 penalty chances.

This week the boys take on newcomers the Dragons that were promoted from B division Carlton. It is a must win for the senior teams. As the season is looming close to the halfway mark all points are required.
