Assupol TuksCricket appoints former Tukkie as Head Coach

In February 2016, Assupol TuksCricket appointed a new Head Coach, Technical Director and Head of Cricket, Kruger van Wyk.

Van Wyk made his professional and first-class debut during the 2000 season for the Titans and retired as a professional player in New Zealand during the 2016 season. During this 17-year period, he played nearly 400 professional matches. The pinnacle of his career was when he was called up to the New Zealand test side. Kruger captained numerous first class teams including Canterbury and the Central Stags and led them to a number of titles. He was part of the South African Cricket Academy and represented the South Africa A squad on several occasions.

Van Wyk is a former TuksCricket player who played club cricket for Tuks before he moved to New Zealand.

His career statistics are as follows:

F/C: 139 matches, 6 734 runs, average 39,61 and 435 dismissals

List A One-Day: 141 matches, 2 634 runs, average 38,73 and 178 dismissals

T20: 80 matches, 877 runs, average 21,39 and 58 dismissals
