Assupol TuksCricket had a great year on the field last year and won the following tournaments:

This past season was exceptional for TuksCricket. Here is a summary on what the team achieved:

• Red Bull Campus Cricket World Finals winners: Assupol TuksCricket became the first team to represent South Africa at this international competition. Tuks were undefeated at the competition and came home as World Champions
• Tuks 1 won the USSA A Cricket Week for the 2^nd year running in December 2014
• Tuks 1 won the NCU Premier League for the 5^th year running in March 2015 and qualified to play in the 2015 Momentum National Club Championships
• Tuks 1 won the NCU Knock Out Competition in March 2015 for the 6^th consecutive year
• Tuks 1 won the NCU T20 Competition in February 2015 for the 3^rd year running
• Assupol TuksCricket won the inaugural Varsity Cricket Week in Potchefstroom in February 2015 and by winning this competition they qualified to represent South Africa again at the Red Bull Campus Cricket World finals in India in October this year.

The team is continuously having players move on to the next level of cricket and with this fast player turnover; Assupol TuksCricket’s depth gets tested continuously. This past season TuksCricket struggled with this and have to ensure that this coming season there are enough good quality players to be able to move to the next team when other players have be called up. 

After winning this award last year, Assupol TuksCricket also won the Team of the Year Award at the Annual TuksSport Colours Awards as well as the Club of the Year the TuksSport awards.

Assupol TuksCricket Head Coach, Pierre de Bruyn, was awarded the Coach of the Year Award at the Gauteng Sports Awards. This award was well deserved by the coach who led his team to victory in all the tournaments above. 

In the 5 years that Pierre has been a coach at TuksCricket there have been many players that moved on to the next level and that played representative cricket:

• 4x Protea players in AB de Villiers, FAF du Plessis, Morne Morkel and Albie Morkel
• 2x Protea Women’s players in Sune Luus and Mignon du Preez
• A SA A player in Theunis de Bruyn
• 9x SA u19 players
• 15x Franchise players
• 26x Senior provincial players
• 15x SA USSA players
• 10x Women’s Senior Provincial Players
• 4x Players in the CSA National Academy

Pierre continuously identifies good cricketers that come from a disadvantaged background and gives them the opportunity to play cricket at Tuks and get exposure in their cricket while offering them a chance to study and get a tertiary education while pursuing their cricket dreams.
