At TuksSport, we offer a diverse range of sports, access to sporting bursaries, state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor facilities, a fully equipped gym, and a dedicated rehab/physio clinic. For relaxation and downtime, we also provide an entertainment area for athletes and students to unwind after their sporting activities.

Client relations are at the heart of everything we do. Our management and staff pride themselves on a CLIENT-CENTRIC approach, ensuring a seamless and personalised experience. We strive to be a one-stop hub for external clients, students, and staff, carefully listening and responding to their needs and expectations to deliver exceptional service.


Our goal is to provide seamless support and information across all your TuksSport needs. We offer a range of services to cater to the needs of students, staff, and external clients:

  • General enquiry services
  • Information centre for a calendar of events
  • Merchandise sales
  • Assistance to staff
  • Assistance to students and external clients
  • One-stop Information Hub for all TuksSport-related business

 

Bursaries & Client Administration
Who qualifies for TuksSport bursaries?
  • Only bona fide full-time students registered at the University of Pretoria are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be permanent South African citizens.
  • For foreign students, inquiries regarding bursaries can be directed to the Study Financing Department.
  • Bursaries are available to students from all disciplines, not limited to sport-related studies, and all eligible students are encouraged to apply.
  • Double dipping of bursaries is not permitted (e.g., receiving both NSFAS and TuksSport High-Performance Bursaries).
  • Applications open on the 1st of May for the following year and close on the 15th of August.
  • Application deadlines may vary; applicants are advised to regularly check the webpage for updates.

You can sign up for a TuksSport membership via the UP-Tuks portal. Membership is available for external members, staff, alumni, and students. Please note that some sporting codes may require trials before joining, so it is best to contact the relevant individual clubs for more information.

Gym, Physio Bookings & Student Injury Clinic

Yes, we have a gym located in Hall 4 of the Sports Centre. Operating days and hours are as follows:

Monday to Friday: 06:00 - 19:00

Saturday: 08:00 - 13:00

Closed: Sundays & Public Holidays

Private and medical aid patients, Call SEMLI reception at (012) 484 1711 to make a booking.


Bursary-sponsored athletes: Contact your coach or club administrator to schedule physio sessions.

We have a Student Injury Clinic located inside the Sports Centre.

  • Cost: R50 per session with student physiotherapists.
  • Booking: Call (012) 484 1711 and specify you're booking with the Student Injury Clinic.
  • Hours: 07:00 to 15:00 daily.


Important Note: If you don't specify that you're booking with the Student Injury Clinic, you will be charged full price for a physio treatment with SEMLI Physio.
