Our Team
The management structure of the Tshwane Insulin Project (TIP) includes an Operational Team, a Technical Working Committee and an Advisory Board.
TIP Operational Team consists of the Project Head or Principal Investigator, the co-investigator and six full-time project staff including a project manager, a nurse coordinator and field researchers. The Operational Team holds weekly meetings to discuss the implementation of project activities and to monitor progress.
TIP Technical Working Committee meets monthly to discuss progress made and to address implementation challenges and technical issues. The committee is made of members of the Operational Team as well as UP academics from various departments including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Human Nutrition, Nursing, Physiology and the School of Health Systems and Public Health.
TIP Advisory Board meets four times a year (every quarter) and includes members of the Technical Working Committee, representatives of the Lilly Global Health Partnership and stakeholders from local, provincial and national health authorities. The Advisory Board provides strategic leadership in the development, implementation and sustainability of the project, ensure project implementation in line with guidelines and policies both local and national, and contribute to the promotion and advocacy for the project.
