WORKSHOP CATALOGUE

The Transformation Office is offering workshops to both staff and student groups. The goal of
these workshops is to conscientise the University community on the five themes that are covered in the University of Pretoria's Anti-Discrimination Policy. These workshops also aim to inform the University community on how to report incidents of sexual and gender-based
violence, sexual harassment and all forms of unfair discrimination.

Below are the workshops available:

-Anti-Discrimination policy
This workshop aims to conscientise participants on the Anti-Discrimination Policy with an
emphasis on its five thematic areas. The five areas that this workshop will cover are unfair
discrimination, violence, retaliation, harassment and sexual harassment, and hate Speech.

-Harassment and sexual harassment
Participants of this workshop will know how to define harassment, understand the different ways
in which harassment takes place and how this conduct might present itself in their interactions
with others.

-Workplace Bullying 

Workplace bullying often comes in subtle ways and can potentially affect the overall workplace climate if not dealt with, so it should be addressed immediately when identified.

The training covers the following topics:

1. What is workplace bullying?
2. Examples of behaviours that could constitute bullying
3. What can we do about workplace bullying?

Objectives

1. Raise awareness and understanding about workplace bullying.
2. Encourage staff and students to speak out and report incidents of bullying.
3. Explain how the University deals with reported cases of workplace bullying
4. Encourage safe working  space for all.

-Gender diversity and Inclusion
The workshop will guide participants through the use of inclusive language, how to drive gender inclusion in their spaces and to understand the different forms of gender Identities.

-Gender-Based Violence
The purpose of this workshop is to help participants understand gender stereotyping and GBV
through the lens of harassment as defined in the Anti-Discrimination Policy. They will also
understand gender within the context of sexual harassment and the role rape culture plays as a
barrier to justice.
