The current VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) telephone system on all UP campuses, is at the end of its life and has become a liability. It can not be supported any more and its functionality no longer meets business requirements as it restricts the computing speed of users to a maximum network speed of 100 Mbs.

ITS has upgraded its network infrastructure to support Gigabit speeds to every desktop and has procured the new Avaya Aura pod VOIP telephone system as part of this solution. It is a centralised next generation communication and collaboration platform with multimedia and multicast conferencing support.
